Allier
Length: 105 km
Source: Langogne en lozere
Estuary: Nevers
Particularity: One of the last wild rivers in Europe, an exceptional wildlife and vegetation in the heart of the “pays des volcans”, you might even come across wild salmon.
Allier is one of the rare rivers in France where one can associate the sensation of a rafting route of the Gorges (12km) and enjoy navigating in a canoe for more than 105 km along the river, from 2 to 7 days, 32 to 105 km with varied routes and accessible to all.
You can opt for the complete independence or getaway plan (luggage transport, bookings and prepaid camping overnights)
Many campsites border the river, or for small hikes (2 to 3 days) accommodation is possible in hotels or cottages
