Cavereau - Chouzé on Loire | 7 days | 130 km

Programme :

Day 1 : Cavereau - Base Loire Kayak : 20 km (4h of canoeing)
During your day : you will pass by the castle of Colliers, the church of Saint Dyé sur Loire (former port of Chambord), the village of Cour sur Loire and the castle of Menars. This is one of the most beautiful canoe trips on the Loire !

Overnight stay : Stop at the base, at the Val de Blois campsite, possibility of renting equipped tents or chalets (200m from the base Loire Kayak ), hotels, gites, bed and breakfast... (You will be able to pick up your vehicle which is on the parking lot of our base). Bivouac possible upstream and downstream of the base.
Possible visit : Chambord, Cheverny and Blois castles, bike ride(renting on site).

Day 2 : Base Loire Kayak - Chaumont : 20 km (4h of canoeing)
You will cross Blois and pass by the port of La Creusille, where you will see the traditional boats of Loire, arrival in Chaumont sur Loire at the campsite on the left bank before the bridge.

Overnight stay : Camping de Chaumont sur Loire, hotel, gite.
Visit : Castle and Gardens of Chaumont on Loire.

Day 3 : Chaumont - Amboise : 18 km (4h of canoeing)
You will pass by the castles of Chaumont sur Loire and Amboise.

Overnight stay: Camping de l'île d'or (Amboise), hotel, gite.
Visit: Amboise Castle, Clos Lucé (last residence of Leonardo da Vinci).

Day 4 : Amboise - Vouvray : 14 km (3h canoeing)
A few kilometers after Amboise, you will pass at the foot of Montlouis on Loire on the left bank where you can refuel, quench your thirst or make a visit.

Overnight stay : Camping des Peupliers (Montlouis sur Loire), hotel, gite, bivouac.
Visit : Troglodytic cellars on the edge of Loire, village of Montlouis/Loire and House of Loire.

Day 5 : Vouvray - Saint Etienne de Chigny : 17 km (3h30 of canoeing)
You will pass by the troglodytic houses of Rochecorbon and then cross the city of Tours.

Overnight stay : Wild bivouac.
Visit : Old town of Tours and the quays of Loire during the portage to the Wilson bridge, castle of Luynes.

Day 6 : Saint Etienne de Chigny - Bréhémont : 22 km (4h of canoeing)
At Langeais, you will pass under the medieval-looking suspension bridge, just before arriving at Bréhémont on the left bank.

Overnight stay: Hotel, gite.
Visit : Tower of Cinq Mars la Pile, Castle of Langeais.

Day 7 : Bréhémont - Chouzé sur Loire : 20 km (4h of canoeing)
You will pass by the foot of the Chapel on Loire and its Church which faces the Loire.

Overnight stay : Camping de Chouzé sur Loire, hotel, gite.
Visit : Castle of Rigny-Ussé.

Once in Chouzé on Loire, you can quench your thirst at the Café de la Loire! We will pick you up and bring you back to the base by mini-bus at the scheduled time.

Practical information and instructions:

Know how to swim 25 meters and immerse yourself.
One 55L canister per person.
A map, a roadbook and a free smartphone application will be provided to accompany you during your canoe trip.
The shuttle is provided at the end of the day on the^first day.
Accommodation not included and camping equipment not provided.
Free and unsupervised parking.
Possibility to buy on site :
- Neoprene slippers,
- Waterproof bags (30 to 60 L) and telephone bags.

This price includes the rental of sit-on-top canoes or kayaks, with paddles, life jackets, one water bottle per person and the mini-bus shuttle.

• Kayak single-seater Sit on Top, ideal for a 2-day excursion on kayak on the Loire without being overloaded (1 canister/pers).
• Kayak 2/3 seats Sit on Top, suitable for 2 to 3 days of hiking kayak on the Loire if you are not too loaded (1 canister/pers).

For more than 2 days of canoeing, we recommend the Canadian canoe, Nova Craft Porspector 15'6, which is ideal if you are travelling with a full load and want to take all your canoeing gear with you.
